I want to show you two aspects of selling your you and your ideas that are totally obvious ... but they're hardly ever discussed.
Before I show you what the 2 aspects are, let me tell you what the two aspects are:
- The cost, risk and potential loss of "buying" your idea/solution are hugely important.
If they're too high then your colleagues or customers will walk away.
So ... make the smaller, cheaper.
De-risk them before you present the idea.
Don't boil the ocean. - Your reputation - especially how much people trust you - is even more important.
Basically, if people don't trust you ... you're screwed.
Here's the thing: we all spend more time thinking about our solution than our reputation.
Let me show you an example.
This is a weird example and I don't think I've seen anything like this before.
Over the weekend, I uploaded my next book to amazon.
It's a pre-order for $0.99 - low cost.
And, since you're here, I hope you trust me ... a bit.
Why don't you go take a look at "Clarke's Next Book", then hit reply and tell me whether you'd buy it or not (you can buy it, if you like):
I'd love to know what went through your mind.
Hope you're having fun!
Clarke
