Hello again đź‘‹
You may have noticed… I disappeared. I meant to take a short break from my daily emails over Christmas.
Three weeks, I thought. It’s now late March. Oops.
The good news? That pause gave me space to think. To mull.
And mulling is productive—especially for me.
During the break, a few good things happened. Commercially. Personally. I bought a new ebike. Took time to think. And now I’m back at it - with fresh energy and a clearer idea of where this next book is going.
It’s called Cash Cows Make the Best Burgers.
(The cover will probably look something like the image up top.)
And yes, it’s got a bit of a bite to it.
If you'd like to read it in draft/serialized form, sign up for the dailyish emails here: https://bestburgers.cc
(Did you know, btw, that Charles Dickens wrote and published many of his most famous books in serialized form - chapter by chapter, week by week, published in newspapers?)
I’ve made a slightly weird decision with this one (but it feels very right):
• I’m writing this book for CFOs
• who want to add a little commercial savvy
• to their software and product teams
In other words, I want to help turn those teams into cash cows—profitable, reliable, and surprisingly joyful to work with.
Behind the scenes, I call my approach Benefits Engineering, though I'm sure if that’ll make it into the book, but it sums up the big idea nicely.
So, I’m back. I’ll be sharing more as I go—behind-the-scenes thoughts, excerpts, maybe a few wonky diagrams and even wonkier metaphors.
Thanks for your patience,
Clarke
