Let me quickly introduce you to Billy Broas’s Five Lightbulbs marketing framework, which I learned about two or three years ago and have used ever since.

It's a simple marketing framework for people like me who need to sell their ideas, services and products.

Note:

  • I'm neither licensed nor qualified to teach anyone how to use the 5LBs for commercial selling - contact Billy directly if you need help with that.
  • Instead, I'll show you how it's helped me reframe how I sell ideas and solutions.

Today, I'll introduce you to the 5LBs. Tomorrow, I will share an example.

The Five Lightbulbs:

Here’s the idea: Before anyone buys into your idea, they must believe five key things.

Think of each as a lightbulb that needs to be switched on.

  • 💡1: “We Get You” - They need to believe you understand their situation, problems, and frustrations.
  • 💡2: “Those Options Aren’t the Best for You” - They need to see why common approaches or alternatives won’t work as well.
  • 💡3: “Our Approach Is Best for You” - They need to understand what makes your approach different and better.
  • 💡4: “You Can Trust Us” - They need to believe in your ability to deliver.
  • 💡5: “We Know What You Want” - They need to see the better future you’re offering.

That's it for now - I don't want to overwhelm you.

Tomorrow ... an example.

Until then,

Clarke
