The thing that prompted me to start this daily email was LinkedIn’s algorithm.
Last week, in a moment of frustration, I posted something on LinkedIn that said something like this:
I don’t know what Agile is anymore … does anyone?
I checked yesterday and it has, so far, been commented on 150ish times and been viewed 18,000ish times.
The following day I shared another piece of advice about using ToC with Agile and it was only viewed 1,500ish times.
That doesn’t seem right.
It makes me feel kinda squeamish.
I totally understand that LinkedIn wants content that attracts comments and keeps them on LinkedIn. That’s their business model and, you know what? I like using LinkedIn and I’ve had some fantastic chats because of it, and I even like Microsoft, the owners of LI.
So … I’m not complaining about them.
But … I don’t want to be the sort of person who deliberately chases likes, views and 👁 👁 👁 (wow - three eyeballs in a row looks weird).
I do want to share - frequently - with people who like what I write.
I do some of my best thinking, these days, with my thumbs, so it’s useful to me.
And, I think writing something like this is my version of mindfulness.
I hope the thoughts I share are useful to you, too.
If not … you will leave.
So, let me see if I can stack the “usefulness” deck in our mutual favour.
Is there a question you’d like to ask me?
