A reader (Hello Jack!) recently asked:
"Why do you keep writing about books, writing, and ChatGPT, when I thought you'd focus more on bottlenecks?"
It made me think. After all, I do call myself "the bottleneck guy."
Then I realized: all those topics are bottleneck solutions.
Let me capitalize that: BOTTLENECK SOLUTIONS.
When I write about writing techniques, handling tough conversations, ChatGPT, or building trust, I’m sharing tools and ideas for people who are clever and have too much to do.
They're leaders. And also, they're the bottleneck.
So, I write about BOTTLENECK SOLUTIONS for busy, clever people.
Doh! That seems soooo obvious now that I've written it.
These aren’t factory bottleneck solutions, btw, because people are different to machines. But they might help a manager who's too busy to hire staff or a marketer who just needs time to think.
And as we know, for people like us ... TIME TO THINK ... is the most precious resource in the world.
If you didn't know this, now you do.
That’s why I write about more than bottlenecks: to help busy leaders find time to think.
